ANIMATION
Animation is the art of creating moving images through the manipulation of visual elements. It encompasses various techniques such as 2D hand-drawn, 3D computer-generated, stop motion, and more. Animators bring characters, stories, and worlds to life, captivating audiences across film, television, games, and advertising. It requires creativity, technical skill with software tools like Maya or Blender, and attention to detail in timing and movement. Animation continues to evolve, blending traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
2D ANIMATION:
TECHNIQUE: In 2D animation, artists create characters, backgrounds, and scenes in a two-dimensional space. Traditionally, this involved drawing frame by frame on paper, but today it's often done digitally using software like Adobe Animate or Toon Boom Harmony.
CHARACTERISTICS: 2D animation tends to have a flat, more stylized appearance compared to 3D. It's often associated with traditional hand-drawn cartoons, animated TV series, and certain types of advertisements.
3D ANIMATION:
TECHNIQUE: 3D animation involves creating objects and characters in a three-dimensional digital environment. Artists use specialized software like Autodesk Maya, Blender, or Cinema 4D to model, rig (add bones for movement), texture, animate, and render these objects.
CHARACTERISTICS: 3D animation allows for more realism and depth compared to 2D. It's widely used in movies, video games, architectural visualization, and virtual reality experiences.
